Why I Do What I Do: Grounded Care for a Disconnected World

I never planned to walk this exact path, but in many ways, it feels like it chose me.

After two decades working with older adults in mental health, I’ve come to believe that healing isn’t about fixing—it’s about remembering. Remembering how to feel safe in our bodies. How to connect with our senses. How to slow down and come home to ourselves.

As an occupational therapist, I’ve seen how life’s pressures, losses, and trauma can slowly pull people away from themselves. But I’ve also seen the quiet power of reconnecting. That’s the work I do now—supporting people in finding ways back to themselves, whether through movement, ritual, or meaningful daily routines.

My practice is grounded in science, but it’s also informed by soul. I draw from somatic practices, nature-based healing, and spiritual tools —not as fixes, but as invitations. Ways to listen more deeply. Ways to be more fully here.

This isn’t a place for perfection or performance. It’s a place for honesty, safety, and slow, meaningful growth.

Thanks for being here with me.
